LEADERS

A Big Conversation runs well when at the centre of it there is a leader (could be two or three people) with influence who has caught the vision of what it is about, has a relationship with other community leaders and knows how to harness a group of people to facilitate the project.

Core Group

The role of the core group is to support the leader and facilitate the various dimensions of the Big Conversation.

Community Leaders

To ensure that the Big Conversation engages with people across the defined area it is vital that as many community leaders as possible are involved in the Steering/Reference Group. These permission givers enable the conversation to flow easily and ensure that it is not limited to only a few sections of the community.

Concerned Citizens

Depending on how sizeable the project undertaken, the role of those concerned about their community will vary from sending out literature to manning stands to actively taking part in various discussions.
